After a year of trying to pull together a nucleus of West Africans in Worcester, MA, Seokin Payne realized that it was just not going to happen. At the same time a group of West Africans in Providence, RI, kept begging Seokin to come and start a new church with them. So, after much discussion and prayer, it was decided to relocate his new work to Providence. On September 28, 2003, a congregation of 65 African people met together for the first time for worship and fellowship. Africans from four different countries are involved in weekly Bible studies with a population of 8,000 Liberians as the primary target for evangelism.
